BookFlow - Fluid Interaction with Books

In this project we want to design a flowing, user-defined visualization of books and their hierarchical structure which allows the user to fluently interact. Therefore, we create a multi-touch visualization, in which the books are represented as stacks of paper which can be fanned out and stacked differently, while offering focus and context. Additionally, we provide fluent interaction gestures that offer continuous browsing through the book's content as well as a scrapbook that lets the user collect the book's information and own thoughts about the chosen topic.

The goals of this project are:

  • User-defined visualization for hierarchical structured books

  • Fluid gestures that enhance the user experience when working with the book’s content
